Unit: Operations Facility: Beaver Dam - Wisconsin Reports To: Business Unit Manager SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Operations Supervisor position’s primary role is to focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale as the foundation of all the continuous improvement of the conversion process. His/her primary responsibility is to ensure resources are available for the team to produce quality products along with quality work in a safe and efficient manner. To achieve this, the Operations Supervisor must be able to train and lead in a team-based environment using problem solving techniques. The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for developing team members through coaching, counseling, and motivating the team towards achieving their goals. Advises and assists the Business Unit Manager as a member of the plant operations team and may assume Business Unit Manager responsibilities in his/her absence. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Achieves established department goals and plant goals of safety, quality, volume and productivity. Communicates and enforces all Company, Plant, and Departmental work rules and policies. Provides leadership and guidance to employees for the purposes of increasing their effectiveness and establishing a good working relationship. Inspects the quality of employee’s work, adherence to GMP policies, and adherence to proper safety practices and conditions. Monitors period cleaning documentation, employee’s proper use of tools and methods, and corrects these factors as required. Monitors department staffing, scheduling, overtime and works with hourly leaders to continually improve the current processes. Monitors changes in employee morale and works to resolve problems within his/her department. Observes and administers labor cost reductions on an ongoing basis to ensure the least cost producer. Responsible for employee time records. Responsible for routine maintenance repair of department equipment, line changes, and preventative maintenance. Maintains safe practices and procedures. Responsible for a plant safety program and leading a safety star point team. Responsible for the principles of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (QCDSM) on the specific shift along with leading the shift Green Rooms. Working knowledge of Beaver Dam’s defined business system of all the procedures and associated materials that relate to this position. Perform observations for both improved safety and quality, such as safety scans and ISO Scan observations as required. Perform other duties as assigned. MAJOR CONTACTS/ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Operations Supervisor will report to the Business Unit Manager and be the primary resource to lead the plant packaging process on the specific shift. This position works directly with the Plant Leadership Team to drive improvements. The Operations Supervisor works closely with R&D and other Kraft plants to improve conversion. This position works directly with the Quality Department, Engineering/Maintenance Department, Finance Department, Materials Department, and Human Resources Department.
